Bryan Crisp has toured the United States extensively as a soloist and educator. As a member of “Mr. Jack Daniel’s Original Silver Cornet Band”, and a previous member of “Tim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass,” Bryan has had the opportunity to perform as soloist in concert halls in 38 states and such prestigious events as the International Trumpet Guild Conference and The Great American Brass Band Festival.
Bryan has been a winner of the National Trumpet Competition (brass quintet division), the Tennessee Trumpet Competition (solo and duet divisions) and a recipient of the Blackburn scholarship given by ITG. Mr. Crisp performs regularly with major orchestras including the Cincinnati Symphony, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera, Dayton Philharmonic and is currently Associate Principal Trumpet with the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra. In addition to these, Bryan performs regularly with Broadway Across America productions in the Cincinnati/Dayton areas.
As a music educator, Mr. Crisp works as brass instructor, music consultant and score editor for marching programs in the Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio areas and serves as music consultant/brass education head with the 2014, 2015 & 2016 KMEA 5A State Champion Madison Central High School. Mr. Crisp is also an active adjudicator with BOA, DCI, KMEA, ISSMA, CITSA, ITG and the National Trumpet Competition. Bryan has a private trumpet lesson studio in the Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio areas that is devoted to bringing quality instruction to advanced high school and middle school aged students. Mr. Crisp has held previous Instructor of Trumpet positions at Wittenberg University, Mt. St. Joseph University, University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts Program. Prior to teaching at the college level Bryan was the Assistant Band Director at Cumberland County High School and the Director of Bands at North Cumberland Elementary School.
Bryan holds two undergraduate degrees from Tennessee Technological University in Music Education and Music Performance and a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Bryan can be heard on eight recordings including the latest available through Summit Records entitled Classic Hymns DCD428, 2005. Bryan lives in Northern Kentucky with his beautiful wife Sarah, daughters Sadie & Georgia, and two dogs, Annie and Marty.
Bryan is a Yamaha Performing Artist
