Marching Band Arrangement Editing

The editing of a marching band arrangement is something many directors do not think about before entering the season. There are many music arrangers that are writing marching band arrangements for programs all over the country, and putting out excellent products, but most with inherent issues for the competitive marching band.

The editing process takes a detailed look at pacing, construction, rhythmic issues, how the music fits for the performers of that particular ensemble, range, balance, dynamic interest, breathing, etc.

Spending many years on top of a press box adjudicating marching arts at the state level and with Bands of America (BOA) as well as DCI, and working with and consulting bands has developed a skill for helping programs see what works and what does not.

The music sounds great so far – I really notice a difference. We are smaller this year compared to last year but sound bigger already!
