Marching Band Music Advising

The marching arts requires skillful music choices, delicate decision making, careful arranging, strategic instrumentation, and superior balance and blend.

My father was a band director for 30 years and I grew up on the marching field watching and learning from a very early age. Over 20 years of experience working with and adjudicating award winning marching bands and Drum Corps (DCI) have helped shape ideas and ways to refine and educate the individual musician and ensemble.

I perform for a living with major orchestras and broadway shows in the Cincinnati area and It is my passion to bring exceptional brass training straight from the stage to your band room.

For the best results, coaching and advising should begin at the beginning of the season.

  • How to re-arrange, re-write, and adjust current marching music to help the ensemble achieve a more cohesive band sound while giving the performer the best chance for success
  • Advice on balance and the transparency of musical lines
  • Help refining tone and musicality and assisting with musical and visual blend
  • Assistance in picking ensemble music/arrangements that gives the band the best chance for musical competitive success
  • Working with brass sections to achieve effortless tone projection, correct breathing and articulation consistency while developing more refined intonation and musical knowledge.
